Member ecosystem
The ABBL brings together its members through a dynamic structure of clusters, working groups, technical committees and forums. Over 2,500 banking professionals collaborate to shape the future of Luxembourg’s financial industry.
As a member of the ABBL, you are part of a dynamic ecosystem where your voice matters. By contributing your expertise, you help shape the future of Luxembourg’s banking and financial sector. Whether you want to influence policy, stay ahead of market developments or connect with peers facing similar challenges, the ABBL offers a place for you to engage, collaborate and grow. The
ABBL member ecosystem is structured in:
Business Clusters – Strategic groups by sector to align with market evolution
Clusters bring together senior professionals and industry leaders to exchange views on strategic developments, assess market trends, and develop sector-specific recommendations. They can set up working groups and task forces to handle specific topics in more details.
Each cluster is chaired by a Chairperson, who also sits on the ABBL Board to ensure the cluster’s voice contributes to the association’s overall governance.
The ABBL is structured around five core business clusters, each representing a major segment of the banking sector:
Technical Committees – Your voice on regulation and technical matters
Technical committees form the backbone of the ABBL’s regulatory and operational expertise.
They include specialists from member institutions, supported by ABBL experts, and play a key role in producing guidance, formulating positions, and engaging with regulatory authorities at both national and EU level.
They can also set up working groups and task forces to handle specific topics in more details.

Working Groups – Rapid response teams for emerging issues
Working groups are the most flexible and focused units in the ABBL ecosystem. Created in response to specific developments—such as new EU regulations, market innovations, or supervisory initiatives—they:
- Deliver targeted feedback and position papers.
- Coordinate sector-wide responses to consultations.
- Produce practical implementation guidelines.
They are temporary by design, but their work is often essential to informing both strategic direction and day-to-day compliance.
