Shaping the future: strengthening leadership at the ABBL

Published on 02 April 2025

In an increasingly competitive environment, the ABBL is reaffirming its role as a forward-thinking catalyst for change by reinforcing its senior management.

Summary

Sandrine Roux and Arnaud Clement join the ABBL; Jonathan Hug gets promoted.

Sandrine Roux succeeds our colleague Gilles Pierre, who is retiring after 19 years of dedicated service to ABBL members, as Head of Banking Regulation & Financial Markets. She will also lead our Sustainability team.

Sandrine has 20 years experience in the Luxembourg Banking Industry with broad knowledge of banking activities and challenges including corporate governance, regulatory and remediation projects, business strategy definition & implementation, as well internal and external communication.

Arnaud Clement will join us as Head of Payments and Innovation and will also take over the responsibilities of our colleague Bettina Helling, who is also retiring.
Arnaud combines technical expertise, strategic vision and a strong commitment to diversity and collaboration. He is passionate about the challenges within Luxembourg’s ICT & Startup ecosystem.

Jonathan Hug joined the ABBL in 2019 and recently occupied the function of Senior Legal Advisor. He will now take on the position of Head of Legal, Tax and Compliance.

They will join our strong senior management team, which also includes:

    • Antoine Kremer (Head of European Affairs),
    • Hélène Lange (Head of Business Coordination),
    • Sarah Odru (Head of Member Relations),
    • Myriam Sibenaler (Head of Human Resources), and
    • Paul Wilwertz (Head of Communication).

Please join us in welcoming Sandrine Roux and Arnaud Clement to the team, in saluting the promotion of Jonathan Hug, and in wishing a joyful, healthy and adventure-filled retirement to our soon-to-be former colleagues Bettina Helling and Gilles Pierre.
