Strengthening financial ties between Brazil and Luxembourg
Published on 03 June 2025
On 3 June, the ABBL had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from ANBIMA – the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association at the House of Finance in Luxembourg.
Summary
During this meeting, Zeca Doherty and Ana Flávia Lopes from ANBIMA joined the ABBL team to discuss current developments in banking and finance in Europe and Brazil. The exchanges provided an opportunity to share insights on the role of trade associations, regulatory trends, and evolving market dynamics in both regions.
This meeting follows the recent financial mission to Brazil led by Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, underlining the growing ties between the two financial centres. With an increasing number of Brazilian banks establishing a presence in Luxembourg, strengthening the dialogue with ANBIMA is a key step towards developing collaboration on areas of mutual interest. Discussions focused particularly on the development of capital markets, education and training, innovation and digital finance, and the regulatory agenda.
The ABBL looks forward to continuing to work closely with ANBIMA and other partners to foster cross-border opportunities and promote best practices in financial services.
